I tried to watch new top gear. only saw Matt, Sabine and that orange, shouty hoser. Fell asleep, will try again. But that’s just a tv show, in the world of real cars and jaloppiness, I snagged a real paint booth for a couple hours this afternoon and, never one to squander an opportunity, my pickup is now in white epoxy.
not finished, but all one colour helps so much.

don’t worry, I left a patch of original red behind the plate. used masking tape this time, tinfoil when it went black.

endura grey, which is almost white.

gives you a rock hard layer that you can keep working on top of, seals in pinholes etc, prevents bullseyes around feathered layers, and is chemically open to re-spray on top of for a couple of weeks. Left longer than a couple of weeks it’s like trying to sand a cinder block smooth. It can also be left for years and keep project cars from rotting while they sit.

i’m glad you left at least a little something....
looks sharp.

I’ll just sand the bugs off instead of washing.

it should be fine.... just sounds harsh. they add flavor.

I know it’s good shit. It seems an odd choice for what looks like an evolving vehicle. I wish I did my trike in that instead of base/clear.

I’ve cleared on top of their black, seems to have stuck. ultra stinky stuff.

driving through the bush just polishes this stuff

Basically the same stuff for Bathtubs right? Takes forever to set up.

White is an interesting choice. I can’t wait for a full reveal. Flat suited it pretty well. I thought you were doing a Rat kind of thing.

it’s what was cheap/free, would like to go to original red, not good enough to paint yet.

No judging from me. I love that truck. The cheaper the better!

this stuff is more like semi truck frame paint. In a resto, you’d put this on the bare metal/mud then put a high build primer on top.

epoxy primer or paint?
![]() 06/01/2016 at 23:21 |

Primer. I beleive their paint is a pure urethane.

what kind?

endura, that’s what the black underneath was too. good stuff. Do not spray in poorly vented garage. Have friend with a paint booth, that’s best.
